Sport Update

Zone Swimming Championships Success

Congratulations to our swimming squad who represented our school in their bright yellow caps at the Zone Swimming Championships last week. Our school had incredible results from 29 athletes with 8 students making it through to the Diocesan carnival.

Good luck to our students (Gypsy Sams, Oliver Davis, Isabella Fede, Aiden Koenig, Summer Randall, Thomas Hayward, Iggy Patrzala and Mason Hardy) who are competing in Macksville today at the Lismore Diocesan swimming trials. We know that you will do your school and region proud. We can’t wait to hear the results!

Winter Sports Trials Success

Last week year 5 and 6 students participated in the Winter Sports Trial for Netball, Soccer and Rugby League.

Our Netball team consisting of Skylah, Tanvika, Yasmin, Leah and Sadie combined with another school and played very well. Yasmin and Leah made it through to possibles and probables which is a great achievement.

Gypsy, Charlise and Zarli represented our school in soccer. They played very well and showed some excellent positional play and hunger for the ball. Both Gyspy and Zarli made the possibles and probables stage.

Willem, Gideon, Jack, Oliver, Eli, James, Harry and Will represented the school in soccer. They were joined by two boys from Bowraville and made a very strong team. Eli, Oli, Willem, Gideon and James all made it to the possible and probables stage and Oli, Willem and James were successful in making the Hastings Zone Team. This is an impressive achievement considering only 9 players were selected in total and two of our players were in year 5! Congratulations to all the boys. We will definitely be contenders at this year's Zone Gala Day for soccer.

Jack E was our only Hockey player and he has been selected to move through to the Hastings Zone Team next week.

On the Rugby League field, Logan H, Logan D, Levi, Brax, Hardy and Lachy represented our school. All the players were mixed into teams and showed some great skill. A storm came through right before possibles and probables so only a Zone Team was selected. Lachy and Hardy were successful in making it through to the next level to represent the Hasting Zone.

Congratulations to all our sports people.

Thank you to Mr Marshall for all the organisation that goes into such a big day and to all the teachers who coordinated the teams.

Zone Rugby Trials Success

On Wednesday Lachlan travelled to Kempsey to try out for the Zone Rugby Union team. He represented the school proudly and was selected for the Hastings Zone Rugby Union Team. Congratulations Lachy.

Sporting Pathways

We are lucky to have such wonderful teachers in the schools across the diocese who are talented in many sports that allow our students to represent at high levels. Our very own Mr Marshall is the Polding and NSW Hockey Coach and many other staff in our school have coached and managed at high levels.

The Pathway to National Competition in schools is represented below, with students who make the Polding Team trialling for NSW selection at a PSSA Carnival to then compete at a National Level.
