For Information

Zone Cross Country

On Wednesday, our school team travelled to Kempsey to compete in the Zone Cross Country Carnival. In very competitive races, all students ran exceptionally well and represented our school with pride. Thank you to Mrs Peck, Mr Marshall and Mrs Hanson for organising the students on the day and also to all the parents that provided travel, support and the opportunity for the students to compete.

Wendy Hudson

On Monday, Wendy Hudson, Police Youth Liaison officer for our region spoke with students in K-2 about personal safety, years 3-4 about Cyber safety and gaming issues and 5-6 about more serious youth safety concerns. We thank Wendy for supporting our community to keep it safe.

Some of the things Constable Wendy told us…..

  • No chatting on any games at all. The only app children should be messaging each other on is Kids Messenger. All the others have had incidents of adults pretending to be children.
  • Kids our age should not be on Fortnite, Call of Duty, Snap Chat and Tik Tok. No R-rated games at all.
  • Parents have to set up the apps for kids.
  • Don’t friend people online that you don’t know.
  • Parents are the 'boss' of us until we are 18. We must do what we are told by our parents.
  • Mum and Dad have rules for us because they want to keep us safe and they love us.
  • Don’t bully other people at school or anywhere because if it gets too bad the police get involved.
  • Don’t hit, kick, push or tease other people.
  • Constable Wendy also told us that we could become police officers when we grow up because we need more police. She said we have to be good at reading and spelling so we can write up reports about accidents and the cases we have to investigate.

Sophie T - Year 6 “It was very informative and reminded us all how to stay safe online and look after ourselves.”

Zeke - Year 6 “I learnt that some games and apps actually have an age limit, and are illegal for some age groups to play”

Harry - Year 6 “I learnt that vapes and e-cigarettes have so many poisonous chemicals in them, like hand sanitiser and toilet cleaner”

Freddie - Year 6 “I found it interesting that you need to have your entire fishing kit with you if you are carrying a fishing knife. It’s actually illegal to just carry a fishing knife in your bag on its own.

Braxton - Year 5 “It was good to learn about keeping safe online - when you are playing interactive games”

Leah - Year 5 “I learnt a lot about vaping and how many dangerous chemicals are in them and how unhealthy they are for your brain.”

Tanvi - Year 5 “I learnt that e-cigarettes and vapes were so bad for your body and brain development. It was really informative and a good lesson.

P&F Models

At the P&F meeting on Wednesday, we discussed the two P&F models including the benefits and concerns people had. We had a great discussion around what our needs were as a P&F and the suitability of each model. In the formal model, the most discussion was had around the role the treasurer would need to fulfil unless we went to the informal model. The roles in the formal model can be found here:

If you would like to add your opinion to the models, this survey will be open for a few more days. Click on this link
