Wrapped with Love Knitting
Today we were joined by many parishioners and grandparents, who helped our Mini Vinnies Team to learn how to knit. They will knit squares which will be sewn together to make blankets as part of the Parish Wrapped with Love initiative. Some of the volunteers will return on Tuesdays at 11am to keep supporting these children.
Tell Them From Me Survey
Today families will have received our school’s “Tell Them From Me” survey. This survey replaces the DOLSIS survey from years gone by. It is a much shorter survey and easier to read. Along with the student and staff surveys, the data from this survey will be analysed and will be used to guide the School Improvement Agenda over the next few years. We are aiming for at least 75% of families to complete the survey to ensure we get a broad picture of our school community.
If you haven't filled the survey in, please go to this link to complete it:

Whole School Write
Over the past couple of weeks, we have presented the same writing stimulus to all our students in K-6 to create an independent piece of writing. We do this at the beginning of each term. This allows us to see how each student engages in the writing process with minimal teacher input and to assess students' growth and achievement in writing.
This assists our planning in English units and for support and extension in writing. This term, our students have been engaged in writing a persuasive text about why it is important to put rubbish in the bin. After watching some educational videos and discussing some images of environmental problems, students had lots of ideas and persuasive arguments to use in their writing.
For extra motivation, we will be selecting some of the best writing samples to present in our own short clip/podcast to share with our community. We hope to share this with you soon.
Best wishes from the leadership team

Today the Mini Vinnies Team launched Operation Christmas Child.
This winter our school is participating in a worldwide event called Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a fundraiser for the poor children who don't get Christmas presents. So how do we help fundraise for these children? The Mini Vinnies team are giving out shoe boxes to fill with gifts for poor kids all over the world and will be shipping them there. Some of the items that are recommended for the present include hygiene products, toys, clothes, paper and pencils etc. Things we can't add to the shoe box present are any items having liquid in it, weapons, food, or toothpaste. To participate, fill in the link below to nominate your family for one or more shoe boxes, and we will send them home and the information pamphlet so you know what to pack.

On Wednesday 24th, August, we will have a special Reading Picnic.
We ask that your child/children bring in their favorite book to share with their friends, along with a towel or picnic rug to sit on.
There will be plenty of fun Book Week activities during this week-long celebration. We will get to vote on our favorite CBCA shortlisted book, with the winners being announced on Friday. However there will be no dress up or book fair.

- Gastroenteritis: children attending childcare or school should be excluded from attending for 48 hours after the resolution of symptoms.
- COVID 19 -7 days isolation for Covid Positive cases and household contacts
- Hand, foot and mouth disease: children should be excluded from school or childcare facilities until their blisters have dried-up, and any rash (if present) has gone and any fever has settled.

Primary Families - Orders will commence the week of Monday, 22 August. Details on ordering and new pie flavours will be circulated soon.
Thank you for your support.
A reminder to students that there is only TWO WEEKS REMAINING!
With the ease of COVID restrictions little Muzos has now been working in the school for 6 months face to face. We are ready to take on more students who may wish to take on learning an instrument and eventually join the Band. On Wednesday I went to the classroom of years 2 /3/4/5 and gave them a demonstration of some of the instruments we have on offer. Guitars and drums will be taught on Mondays and All other instruments on Wednesday. The lessons are during class time, and we have the teacher’s permission to take them from class and give them tuition. We try to rotate the lesson times so students do not miss too many of the same subjects. If you are interested in having your child join Little Muzos, we have added an attachment below, which has our registration form, fill this in and bring back to school and we will contact you with more information. There is a cost to be in our program and if you wish to hire an instrument. We are happy to take beginners and anyone who may already be learning.
Thank you from the team at Little Muzos.
