Celebrating the Success of Our "Transition to Primary School" Program
This week, we wrapped up our "Transition to Primary School" program. We would like to take a moment to express our gratitude to all our new and existing parents for their active participation and support. It has been wonderful to witness the enthusiasm and engagement during these past few weeks as we worked together to prepare their child for their exciting journey into Kindergarten.
Our parent education and information sessions have been a cornerstone of this transition, providing parents/carers with essential information to ensure a seamless start to the school year. This week, we delved into office procedures, school hours, communication methods, and the protocols for pick-up and drop-off, aiming to equip all our new and existing parents with all the necessary information for a confident beginning. Additionally, we shared insights into our canteen services and uniform requirements to assist in their preparations further.
The children's final Joey’s Juniors session was a true highlight, filled with the festive spirit. They were captivated by a Christmas story, immersed themselves in holiday-themed craft activities, and formed heartwarming connections with their older buddies. The social story about attending school was particularly impactful, helping them visualise and become comfortable with their upcoming daily routine.
The readiness and eagerness displayed by the children have been remarkable, and it is with great anticipation that we look forward to welcoming them as our new Kinders for 2024. We can't wait to see their bright faces next year, ready to embark on this wonderful adventure of learning and discovery.
Semester 2 Reports
We wish to remind parents that our Semester 2 reports will reflect a new format in line with the recent curriculum updates in Mathematics and English for K-6. This change ensures alignment with the latest educational standards, research, and diocesan consistency. Please note that reports will be accessible via the Compass App from Friday, 8th December, after 3pm. We appreciate your understanding as we transition to this improved reporting method.

Venue Update for End of Year Pool Day Celebration
We are thrilled to announce an exciting update regarding our End of Year Pool Day! The venue has been changed to the Laurieton Swimming Pool, which features the additional attraction of the Aquascramble. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the P & F for generously funding the Aquascramble and for providing a delicious sausage sizzle for lunch. This change promises an even more enjoyable day for our students, and we can't wait to celebrate with them. Please mark your calendars with the new location and join us in looking forward to a day filled with joy and community spirit.
Best wishes from the leadership team

Tea Towels
We have been sent a limited number (14) tea towels 'leftover' from the P&F tea towel fundraiser held earlier in the year. Each child in the school is featured in the tea towel design, and it is unlikely this event will be run again for several years (the last tea towel fundraiser was 7 years ago!)
Pastoral Care and Wellbeing
Our focus is: We are responsible for our belongings and spaces
We are proud of Year 5, who claimed ‘Class of the Week’ for modelling being responsible for their belongings and spaces last week.
Check out the clip on how our students are practising being Responsible:

$20 Boss Market Day
Our school's Year 5 and 6 students held the $20 Boss Market Day on Wednesday, which was a big success! These young entrepreneurs showcased their creativity and teamwork by setting up a vibrant marketplace with a variety of products, all created with just a $20 investment. From handmade crafts to services, the students impressed everyone with their business skills.
The event drew parents, teachers, and students, contributing to the students' businesses, raising $1800 in profit, after students paid back the initial $20 investments plus $1 interest! This profit will be divided into two equal amounts, with half being donated to the Mini Vinnies Christmas Appeal and the other half contributing to the Year 6 gift to the school.
The $20 Boss initiative taught the students not only about making money but also important life skills like marketing and financial management. It was a day filled with smiles, proud faces, and a sense of community spirit, marking a memorable milestone for these budding entrepreneurs. Thank you again to all the families and teachers who supported students in participating in this event!

Choir
On Wednesday, our wonderful Choir sang at Whiddon Nursing Home. They sang three Christmas Carols with enthusiasm and big smiles, including a dance solo by Ivy and singing solos by Polly, AJ, Briohny and Emme.

Kinder Design and Make Task
