2022 End Of Year Wishes
Incredibly, the 2022 school year is coming to an end. We began the year with hope and optimism after such a challenging 2021. There was a sense of uncertainty at the beginning of the year with the continuing Covid restrictions and limited opportunities for community events and celebrations. However, as the year progressed, it was wonderful to see how things changed, and we were able to re-introduce multiple community events and celebrations and provide greater learning opportunities for our students that we previously took for granted.
I am deeply thankful to the students, families and staff in this community for banding together to ensure that 2022 was a positive, safe and prosperous year for us all. I thank everyone for their dedication and commitment and for how we all worked together in partnership to make this happen.
I would also like to acknowledge the Leadership Team: Mrs Maria Wilson, Mrs Jessica Koenig, Mrs Kristan Nichols and Mrs Fiona Hayward for the enthusiastic way they have led school initiatives, coordinated school events and celebrations, and guided and supported staff, students and families throughout the year.
Whilst we are all looking forward to the upcoming Christmas break and time with our families, it is also a time of mixed emotions as we say goodbye to families that have been part of our school community for many years. This year, we farewell families as they either have their youngest child finishing Year Six or are moving away from the local area. We thank each family for everything they have contributed to our community during their time with us. We wish them all every success in their journeys ahead.
These families include:
Begley, Berry, Burke, Callaghan, Clifford, Cooke, Cullis, Dorn, Eades, Hoad, Hoare, Hudson, Knight, Miller, Morrison, Page, Taylor, Spinazza, Tunhavasana, and Whitelaw.
Finally, I would like to wish all of our families the love, peace and joy of the Christmas season as we await the celebration of Jesus' birth on Christmas Day. May you find time to be with those you love, rest and rejuvenate, ready for a more hopeful 2022.

Awards Ceremony
All students across our school were congratulated on their efforts and achievement for a whole year of learning at Tuesday's End of Year Awards Ceremony. The event was well attended by many parents. Special awards were given for each class for achievement, effort and application in key learning areas. Additionally, special awards for Premier’s Reading Challenge, Sport, Principal’s Pennants, Religious Education and the Spirit of St Joseph’s award for year 6. Congratulations to Abby Hudson who received this highly regarded award this year. A list of all the award recipients and their photos may be viewed below.
We also took the opportunity to acknowledge and thank our P & F President, Rachel DeVires, Vice President Claire McManus and our Canteen Coordinator Emma Hockhan. Our Mini-Vinnies Christmas hampers were presented as a fitting way to conclude our ceremony where we are reminded of our need to use our gifts and talents to serve others this Christmas. A huge congratulations to all our students who are successful learners in our school.
Yr 6 Grad
A beautiful graduation dinner was held for our graduating year 6 students of 2022 on Thursday. The theme was ‘reach for the stars- a red carpet event’ where a decorating team of parents certainly made the event really special. The students enjoyed a meal together accompanied by their parents/caregivers and were entertained with a special Yr 6 movie, cake cutting, dancing and presentation. A huge thanks you to Ms Peck for coordinating the event along with a team of parents. We are so proud of the leaders our year 6 students were to all our students this year and are excited to see what they achieve in high school and beyond. Remember year 6, “shoot for the moon, even if you miss you will land among the stars!”.
Their special week has concluded with the traditional final bell ringing, where there were many smiles of success and tears of nostalgia and joy. Good luck Year 6 2022!!

Bush Tucker Cook Off
We had a very successful day of culinary delight and fun, cooking with native food ingredients supplied by a local business 'Barbushco.' The children enjoyed the experience of putting on their aprons and becoming chef's. Thank you to the staff that helped on the day!

Best wishes from the leadership team
